Abstract
A novel silicone-based coating composition in the form of an aqueous emulsion is proposed which is capable of giving a rubber-like cured coating film of excellent mechanical strengths and flexibility on the surface of various substrate materials exhibiting high adhesive bonding thereto. The composition comprises: PA1 (a) water as the dispersion medium of the emulsion; and PA1 (b) a combination of the ingredients as the dispersed phase comprising: PA2 (A) 100 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane having, in a molecule, at least two alkenyl groups bonded to the silicon atoms; PA2 (B) from 0.05 to 20 parts by weight of an organohydrogen polysiloxane having, in a molecule, at least two hydrogen atoms directly bonded to the silicon atoms; PA2 (C) from 1 to 100 parts by weight of a colloidal silica or a polyorganosilsesquioxane; PA2 (D) from 0.5 to 20 parts by weight of a reaction product of an amino group-containing organosilane compound and a carboxylic acid anhydride compound; and PA2 (E) from 0.0001 to 1 part by weight of a catalytic compound for the hydrosilation reaction between the alkenyl groups in the ingredient (A) and the silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms in the ingredient (B).
