Abstract
A silver halide color photographic material is described, which comprises a support having provided thereon a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, and a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the photographic material contains at least one compound having a photographically useful compound which is inactivated by the chelation with a metal, and the ratios of the gradients of yellow, magenta and cyan in specific development processing II to the gradients thereof in specific development processing I satisfy the following conditions: PA1 0.8.ltoreq..gamma..sub.II (Y)/.gamma..sub.I (Y).ltoreq.1.2 PA1 0.8.ltoreq..gamma..sub.II (M)/.gamma..sub.I (M).ltoreq.1.2 PA1 0.8.ltoreq..gamma..sub.II (C)/.gamma..sub.I (C).ltoreq.1.2 wherein .gamma..sub.I (Y), .gamma..sub.I (M) and .gamma..sub.I (C) each represents the gradient of yellow, magenta or cyan when the development processing I is carried out and .gamma..sub.II (Y), .gamma..sub.II (M) and .gamma..sub.II (C) each represents the gradient of yellow, magenta or cyan when the development processing II is carried out, with which the upset of the balance of gradation due to shor…
