Abstract
Enantiomeric or enantiomerically enriched H.sup.+ K.sup.+ ATPase inhibiting pyridinylsulfinyl--benzimidazoles are prepared using microorganisms or microbial enzyme systems to enantioselectively biooxidize corresponding prochiral sulfide compounds and isolating the pharmaceutically active enantiomer or enantiomerically enriched sulfoxide form.
