Abstract

The present invention relates to novel 2-aryl-3-hydroxy-cyclopent-2-en-1-one derivatives of the formula (I) ##STR1## in which X represents halogen, nitro, cyano, alkyl, alkoxy, alkenyloxy, alkylthio, alkylsulphinyl, alkylsulphonyl, halogenoalkyl or halogenoalkoxy, PA1 Y represents hydrogen, halogen, nitro, cyano, alkyl, alkoxy, alkenyloxy, alkylthio, alkylsulphinyl, alkylsulphonyl, halogenoalkyl or halogenoalkoxy, PA1 Z represents halogen, nitro, cyano, alkyl, alkoxy or halogenoalkoxy and PA1 A, B, D.sup.1, D.sup.2, G and n have the meaning given in the description, several processes for their preparation and their use as compositions for controlling pests and as herbicides.
