Abstract

A cover material has a biaxially oriented resin layer, a heat sealant layer in which an electrically conductive fine powder composed mainly of barium sulfate particles surfaces of which are coated with tin oxide doped with antimony is dispersed in a thermoplastic resin, and an intermediate layer. The intermediate layer comprises 30 to 50% by weight of an ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer having a density of from 0.915 to 0.940 g/cm.sup.3, and 70 to 50% by weight of a styrene-butadiene block copolymer composed of 50 to 90% by weight of styrene and 50 to 10% by weight of butadiene. A carrier tape having a plurality of embossed portions is made of a polycarbonate sheet containing from 5 to 30% by weight of electrically conductive carbon fine particles. A taping apparatus is produced by heat-sealing the above cover material to the above carrier tape so as to cover the embossed portions.
