Abstract
The invention relates to a method of obtaining water-free 2-trimethylammoniumethyl methacrylate chloride (TMAC) characterized in that an aqueous TMAC solution is subjected to the following operations: PA1 (a) Azeotropic removal using an alkyl (meth)acrylate; and PA1 (b) Filtration of the resulting suspension.
