Abstract
The invention provides benzob!indenothiophene compounds of formula I ##STR1## wherein, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, and R.sup.6, are as defined in the specification, intermediates, formulations, and methods of inhibiting bone loss or bone resorption, particularly osteoporosis, cardiovascular-related pathological conditions including hyperlipidemia and related cardiovascular pathologies, and estrogen-dependent cancer.
