Abstract
Catalyst systems which comprise a transition metal and a pyrophosphite ligand are particularly effective as catalysts for hydrosilation reactions. The transition metal is from groups 7-11 of the Periodic Table, and the pyrophosphite has the following formula: ##STR1## wherein E and E' are independently a direct bond, --S--, --Se--, or --CR.sub.9 R.sub.10 -- where R.sub.9 and R.sub.10 are independently hydrogen or alkyl of 1-18 carbon atoms, and R.sub.10 can also be phenyl. R is H or methyl, R.sub.1-8 are independently H, C.sub.1-18 alkyl, C.sub.5-12 cycloalkyl, or C.sub.7-15 phenylalkyl.
