Abstract

The present invention relates to a bioactive conjugate adapted to coat a metal implant outer surface, which has the following structural formula I: EQU --R--X--P I wherein, PA1 R is O or S, adapted to be covalently attached to an implant surface; PA1 X is selected from a bond, linear or branched chains of 1 to 30 covalently attached atoms of at least C, N, O Si or S, rings of 1 to 20 covalently attached atoms of at least C, N, O Si or S, and a combination thereof; and PA1 P is a bioactive molecule moiety which promotes tissue growth, stabilization and integration, and wherein said moiety retains its biological activity.
