Abstract

The aqueous ink of the present invention comprises a suspension of a polymer, preferably a polyester or a polyester polyamide, having adsorbed a dye or a pigment, wherein the surface tension (.gamma.) and the viscosity (.eta.) of the ink at 20.degree. C. and the average particle size (d) of the suspended particles satisfy the following inequality (1): EQU 0.1.ltoreq..gamma..multidot..eta..multidot.d.ltoreq.11 (1) wherein the units of the parameters .gamma., .eta. and d are dyne/cm, cps, and .mu.m, respectively.
