Abstract

A photographic silver halide material in which the silver halide emulsion layer of at least one silver halide emulsion layer is stabilized with a compound of the formula (I): EQU Ar--Se--X (I) in which PA1 Ar means a carbocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic group which has an electron-attracting grouping in o-position relative to the Se and PA1 X means a further substituted heteroatom, exhibits a smaller reduction in sensitivity, in particular under tropical conditions of storage.
