Abstract
This invention relates to formulations useful as lubricants for polyethylene snow sliders such as skis, snowboards and sleds. Lubricants of this type are comprised of i) waxes, ii) carbon fluorides of which the basic structure is represented by the formula CF.sub.x wherein x has values ranging from 0.1 to 1.2 and, iii) fluorinated additives of the formula EQU R.sub.f X(CH.sub.2).sub.m CH.sub.3 wherein R.sub.f is independently a straight or branched perfluoroalkyl group; X is a direct bond, SO.sub.2 NH, SO.sub.2 N(R) wherein R is an alkyl group of up to six carbon atoms, or X is an alkylene group of up to ten carbon atoms interrupted by one or more --O--, --SO.sub.2 --, or --S-- groups; m is an integer from 4 to 30.
