Abstract
A process for producing unsaturated fatty compounds having improved low-temperature properties by PA1 a) splitting lauric oils into fatty acids and glycerol, PA1 b) subjecting the fatty acids to fractional crystallization to obtain a fraction of unsaturated fatty acids, and PA1 c) hydrogenating the unsaturated fatty acids, optionally after converting the unsaturated fatty acids into their lower alkyl esters, to form unsaturated fatty alcohols having an iodine value of from about 85 to about 100.
