Abstract

A color photographic recording material having at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, the silver halide emulsion whereof is spectrally sensitized with a cyanine dye of the formula I, exhibits increased sensitivity, ##STR1## R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.6 to R.sup.9 are H, halogen, alkyl, methoxy, aryl, 1-pyrrolyl, 2-pyrrolyl, 3-pyrrolyl, 2-furanyl, 3-furanyl, 2-thienyl, 3-thienyl, 1-indolyl, 2-isoindolyl or N-carbazolyl; or R.sup.7 together with R.sup.6 or R.sup.8 denote the group required to complete an optionally substituted fused benzene ring or napthylene ring system; PA0 R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are alkyl, sulphoalkyl, carboxyalkyl, --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --SO.sub.2 --NH--SO.sub.2 -alkyl, --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --SO.sub.2 --NH--CO-alkyl, --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --CO--NH--SO.sub.2 -alkyl, or --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --CO--NH--CO-alkyl; PA0 X denotes --O--, --S--, --Se--, or --NR.sup.10 (R.sup.10 =optionally substituted alkyl); PA0 L.sup.1, L.sup.2, L.sup.3 denote substituted or unsubstituted methine groups, or one or more carbocyclic rings; PA0 A is H, an aromatic group or, together with B, is the group required to complete a fused benzene ring; PA0 B either together with A or …
