Abstract
A rotary window operator to effect opening and closing of a window. A rotatable handle (14) is mounted on a housing (10) from which a link member (16) projects. The handle (14) is pivotally coupled to a cage (29) in which a bush (30) is slidingly engaged. A cam surface (25) of handle (14) forces teeth on bush (30) to engage with teeth of cage (29) when the handle (14) is pivoted from a non-use position to an in-use position. A drive shaft coupled to the bush (30) has a gear which meshes with gear wheel (18) of link member whereby rotation of the handle (14), when in the in-use position, imparts movement in link member (16).
