Abstract

The object of the present invention is to provide a polyolefin having a good particle property in a high yield without use of an expensive alumoxane. The present invention comprises a catalyst for olefin polymerization comprising the following ingredients (A), (B) and (C), and a process for preparing an olefin polymer with use of the catalyst: PA1 Component (A): a transition metal compound having at least one conjugated five-membered ring ligand, the transition metal being in the Groups IV-VI of the Periodic Table, PA1 Component (B): an organoaluminum compound, and PA1 Component (C): a finely divided particle composition comprising 0.1-99.9% by weight of boric acid.
