Abstract

The present invention relates to the use of fatty alcohol based compositions comprising: PA1 60 to 90% by weight of at least one fatty alcohol having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms, preferably from 16 to 18 carbon atoms, PA1 10 to 40% by weight of an alkylpolyoside, preferably an alkylpolyoside of which the alkyl part is identical to that of the fatty alcohol, PA1 and, if appropriate, 0.5 to 5% of polyoside, for preparing emulsions. The invention finds an application in particular for preparing emulsions in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical fields.
