Abstract
A supplemental storage rack system expanding the storage capacity of a high density storage rack system includes a supplemental rack disposed along and extending parallel to a side rack of the high density storage rack system. The supplemental rack receiving and supporting items. The supplemental storage rack system also includes an upper guide track, upper rollers rotatably mounted to an upper end of the supplemental rack and receiving therebetween the upper guide track for movement of the upper rollers therealong, outrigger support members attached to an upper end of a main rack of the high density storage rack system and extending outwardly therefrom beyond a side of the side rack to support the upper guide track above the upper end of the supplemental rack, a lower auxiliary extension guide track secured to a guide track for the side rack of the high density storage rack system and aligned generally parallel with the upper guide track, and lower rollers rotatably mounted to a lower end of the supplemental rack which movably contact the lower auxiliary extension guide track and thereby movably support the supplemental rack thereon.
