Abstract
An apparatus and method for automatically placing a fixed-site transceiver into service once installed in a wireless communication network, such as a cellular communication network. Configuration data is stored at a memory device. When the fixed-site transceiver is powered-on, the configuration data stored at the memory device is retrieved, and downloaded to set the parameters required for operation of the base station.
