A device for lifting the abdominal wall for conducting endoscopic examinans and surgery within the abdominal cavity having a handling section and a spiral shaped section which is provided with at least one pitched winding, where the distal end of the spiral-shaped section is provided with a larger spiral diameter than the proximal side.
