Abstract

In a process for the purification by distillation of chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbons originating from the chlorination of aromatic hydrocarbons in the presence of FeCl.sub.3, the crude reaction product is first partially degassed and then directly subjected to distillation in the presence of said FeCl.sub.3.
