Abstract

The invention relates to the use, in cosmetic compositions for cleansing and/or removing make-up in particular from the skin, mucous membranes, eyes, and/or the hair, of at least one succinic anhydride derivative corresponding to one of the formulae I and II: EQU GOOC--(HR)C--C(HR')--COO--(C.sub.m H.sub.2m O).sub.n --H (I) EQU GOOC--(HR)C--C(HR')--COO--(C.sub.m H.sub.2m O).sub.n --C.sub.p H.sub.2p --O--CO--(HR')C--C(HR)--COOG (II).
