Abstract

According to the present invention, gas which contains no impurities and has a high temperature of approximately 700 to 1400.degree. C. can be supplied for a long period with a short preparation time, and fluctuation in the temperature during supply can be reduced. The apparatus according to the present invention includes regenerators 4 and 5 (15 and 16) capable of transmitting sensible heat of the combustion gas to combustion air with high effectiveness by the changing-over operation at short periods and burner apparatuses 2 and 3 for mainly supplying gas fuel for combustion, constitutes a combustion apparatus for accumulating heat in the regenerators 4 and 5 by supplying the combustion air or arbitrary gas to be heated through the regenerators 4 and 5 and exhausting the combustion gas, and is designed so that the arbitrary gas that has reached a predetermined temperature is supplied outside for a predetermined time by interrupting combustion and passing only air or the arbitrary gas through the regenerators 4 and 5 after the regenerators 4 and 5 have reached a predetermined temperature.
