Abstract

An anti-freeze concentrate made by adding together at least: PA1 a) an alkylene glycol; PA1 b) an effective corrosion inhibiting amount, or more, of an unsubstituted benzoic acid; and PA1 c) an effective corrosion inhibiting amount, or more, of a C.sub.7 -C.sub.14 monocarboxylic acid. This formulation is particularly effective at inhibiting corrosion in coolants which are free of borates, primary and secondary amines, phosphates, silicates, as well as those coolants which are free of p-tertbutyl benzoic acid.
