Abstract
The invention relates to novel cobalt compounds, having a general structure ##STR1## wherein Co is either Co(II) or Co(III), and each of the R groups is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, hydrophilic organic acid, alkyl amine, amine, alkyl alcohol, alcohol, polypeptide or nucleic acid. The invention further relates to methods of using such compounds to reduce the biological activity of proteins, particularly enzymes and zinc finger-containing proteins.
