Abstract

Hydroxamic derivatives of the formula (I): ##STR1## in which A represents hydrogen or a grouping which can be readily eliminated; PA1 A.sup.1 represents hydrogen or alkyl; PA1 Ar represents optionally substituted arylene or heteroarylene; PA1 E represents a 1-alkene-1,1-diyl grouping which contains a radical R.sup.1 in the 2-position, or represents a 2-aza-1-alkene-1,1-diyl grouping which contains a radical R.sup.2 in the 2-position, or represents an optionally substituted imino grouping ("azamethylone", N--R.sup.3); PA1 G represents a bridge member as defined herein; and PA1 Z represents in each case optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclyl; are useful as fungicides. Also disclosed is a process for preparing the compounds of formula (I).
