Abstract

Thermoplastically moldable, biodegradable, starch-containing polymer blends consisting essentially of PA1 A) 100 parts by weight of anhydrous starch, PA1 B) from 0.1 to 70 parts by weight of polyurethane containing urea groups and based on selected starting materials, PA1 C) from 0.5 to 70 parts by weight of a plasticizer component and PA1 D) from 2 to 20 parts by weight of water, a process for producing these blends by mixing the individual components in plastics processing machines and their use for producing moldings, films, fibers, coatings or laminates by thermoplastic processing.
