Abstract
A smart memory card (400, 900, 1000) communicates with a smartcard compatible device (500) and a memory card compatible device (600). The smart memory card includes a processor (402, 902, 1002) which performs smartcard functions and a memory (412, 912, 1004) for use with a memory card device connection which allows memory card compatible device operation. Cellular telephones (1300, 1600) facilitate the use of two types of cards therein.
