Abstract

A stabilizer combination, principally for PVC, is described which essentially comprises A) at least one zinc compound of the formula I EQU Zn(R.sup.1 R.sup.2) (I) and B) at least one metal compound of the formula II EQU Me.sup.n+ (R.sup.3.sub.a R.sup.4.sub.b R.sup.5.sub.c) (II) in which Me is Al, Mg, Na or K, a, b and c are 0, 1, 2 or 3, n=a+b+c and can be from 1 to 3, and at least one radical R.sup.1 to R.sup.5 independently of one another are C.sub.1 -C.sub.22 carboxylates, C.sub.2 -C.sub.21 alkenyl-CO.sub.2 --, phenyl-CO.sub.2 --, naphthyl-CO.sub.2 --, C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 cycloalkyl-CO.sub.2 --, C.sub.7 -C.sub.18 alkylphenyl-CO.sub.2 --, C.sub.7 -C.sub.18 alkylphenyl-O--, C.sub.7 -C.sub.9 phenylalkyl-CO.sub.2 --, C.sub.1 -C.sub.21 -alkyl-O--, R.sup.8 --O--CO--[CH.sub.2 ].sub.p --S-- or a radical of the formula R.sup.6 --CO--CH.dbd.CR.sup.7 --O.sup..crclbar. -- and can be Cl-- or HO--, where the aforementioned alkyl or alkenyl radical can be branched, interrupted one or more times by oxygen or substituted by one or more OH groups, and the abovementioned phenyl radical can be substituted by one or more methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl and/or OH groups, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are C.sub.1 -C…
