Abstract
A polyurethane which is substantially self-dispersible in water and is obtainable by reacting PA1 a) at least one polyisocyanate with PA1 b) at least one polyol and PA1 c) at least one photoinitiator of the general formula I ##STR1## where R is a radical of the formula II ##STR2## or is --CR.sup.7 R.sup.8 R.sup.9, P(.dbd.O)(R.sup.10).sub.2 or SO.sub.2 R.sup.11, the number-average molecular weight M.sub.n of the polyurethane being greater than 2700, and its use. The invention also relates to aqueous polyurethane resin dispersions and coating compositions comprising the novel polyurethanes, and to their use.
