Abstract
Disclosed is a photographic element comprising a light sensitive silver halide emulsion layer having in association therewith at least one dye- forming coupler of Formula (1a): ##STR1## wherein: R.sub.1 is an alpha-branched alkyl group with greater than 10 carbon atoms; PA1 R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7, and R.sub.8 are each independently a hydrogen atom or a substituent; PA1 Z is a hydrogen atom or a group which can be split off by the reaction of the coupler with an oxidized color developing agent. The element exhibits improved dye light stability.
