Abstract

An automotive sun roof device comprises a roof opening, a lid sized to cover the roof opening, a guide rail extending along a side of the roof opening, and a bracket secured to the lid. A sliding shoe is slidably engaged with the guide rail. The sliding shoe includes first and second wall members which are coupled having a clearance defined therebetween. The first and second wall members have in mutually facing inner surfaces thereof first and second guide tracks. At least one of the first and second guide tracks is of a bottomed groove. A lifting arm has a lower portion movably inserted into the clearance between the first and second wall members. The lower portion has at opposed surfaces thereof first and second guided pins which are operatively engaged with the first and second guide tracks. A pivot pin is used for pivotally connecting an upper portion of the lifting arm to the bracket.
