Abstract
Apparatus and methods for collecting and concentrating solar radiation for the generation of electrical power, the apparatus comprising a rotatable reflector dish which is pivoted to one side so as to be positioned between a vertical position or lowered to a horizontal position. When horizontal, the dish is protected by a surrounding weathershield for protection against high winds. The reflector dish is preferably parabolic and mounted so as to concentrate and reflect the solar radiation into a receiver.
