Abstract

The present invention concerns an electrode for a rechargeable lithium cell, containing an electro-chemically active material with general formula ##EQU1## where M is at least one transition metal selected from nickel, cobalt, manganese, and iron, A is selected from magnesium and calcium, and D is at least one element selected from the elements of groups 4b to 5a of the periodic classification.
