Abstract

Benzotriazole derivatives of formula ##STR1## or triazines of formula ##STR2## wherein R is hydrogen or chloro; R.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl or phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl; R.sub.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or SO.sub.3 M; A.sub.1 is a radical of formula ##STR3## R.sub.3 is a radical of formula ##STR4## R.sub.4 is halogen; or a radical of formula ##STR5## Q.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl; R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each independently of one another hydrogen; C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl; C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkoxy; halogen; hydroxy; or a radical of formula ##STR6## Hal.sup.- ; where the substituents are as defined herein, are distinguished by good substantivity for human hair while at the same time providing effective protection against UV radiation.
