Abstract
A hydrodynamic coupling having a constant quantity of working fluid, the coupling comprising, a pump wheel and a turbine wheel which together form a working space for a working fluid, a first storage chamber in fluid communication with the working space; and a valve for displacing working fluid between the working space and the storage chamber in response to an external control during operation of the coupling; and further comprising a housing which is connected, fixed for rotation, with the pump wheel, the housing including the first storage chamber, the first storage chamber being rotatable with the housing.
