Abstract
A mechanism for positioning a pair of hinges on an automobile body to facilitate a hinge fastening operation includes a fixture positionable on the body, and two widely-spaced pegs carried by the fixture for accurately locating the fixture relative to the desired hinge location on the automobile. Power-actuated pusher pins on the fixture are used to force the fixture away from the auto body after the hinge-fastening operation, such that the locator pegs are moved out of the locator holes without binding on the hole edges.
