Abstract
Austenitic stainless steel for the production of wire, which can be used in the field of drawing wire down to diameters of less than 0.3 mm and in the field of producing components subjected to fatigue, characterized by the following composition by weight: PA1 5.times.10.sup.-3 %.ltoreq.carbon.ltoreq.200.times.10.sup.-3 % PA1 5.times.10.sup.-3 %.ltoreq.nitrogen.ltoreq.400.times.10.sup.-3 % PA1 0.2%.ltoreq.manganese.ltoreq.10% PA1 12%.ltoreq.chromium.ltoreq.23% PA1 0.1%.ltoreq.nickel.ltoreq.17% PA1 0.1%.ltoreq.silicon.ltoreq.2%, in which the residual elements are controlled so as to obtain inclusions of oxides in the form of a glassy mixture, the proportions by weight of which are as follows: PA1 40%.ltoreq.SiO.sub.2 .ltoreq.60% PA1 5%.ltoreq.MnO.ltoreq.50% PA1 1%.ltoreq.CaO.ltoreq.30% PA1 0%.ltoreq.MgO.ltoreq.4% PA1 5%.ltoreq.Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 .ltoreq.25% PA1 0%.ltoreq.Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 .ltoreq.4% PA1 0%.ltoreq.TiO.sub.2 .ltoreq.4%.
