Abstract
The present invention relates to a composition and dyeing process for the dyeing of keratinous fibers using the composition, where the composition has as coupler, at least one compound of formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 denotes in particular hydrogen, halogen; alkoxy, aryloxy; acyloxy; arylthio; alkylthio; an NR.sup.III R.sup.IV radical with R.sup.III and R.sup.IV, which are identical or different, representing a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, and the like; R.sub.2 denotes hydrogen; halogen; acyl; sulphonyl; sulphinyl; phosphonyl; carbamoyl; sulphamoyl; cyano; siloxy; amino; acylamino; acyloxy; carbamoyloxy; sulphonamido; imido; ureido; sulphamoylamino; alkoxycarbonylamino; aryloxycarbonylamino; alkoxycarbonyl; aryloxycarbonyl; carboxyl; alkyl; or aryl; or a 5- or 6-membered heterocycle having at least one nitrogen, oxygen or sulphur atom; when R.sub.2 denotes an alkyl radical, an aryl radical or a 5- or 6-membered heterocycle, it can be connected to the carbon atom of the nucleus via an oxygen, a nitrogen or sulphur atom; and at least one oxidation base.
