Goniochromatic luster pigments are based on titanium dioxide-coated silicatic platelets which have been heated in a reducing atmosphere and which comprise at least one layer packet comprising PA1 A) a colorless coating having a refractive index n.ltoreq.1.8 and PA1 B) a colorless coating having a refractive index n.gtoreq.2.0.
