Abstract

Fish oil concentrates, having: PA1 .gtoreq.40% of long chain poly unsaturated fatty acids PA1 <20% of saturated fatty acids (C.sub.14 -C.sub.18) PA1 <15% oleic acid PA1 <12% C.sub.16:1 --fatty acid and with a weight-ratio: PA1 DHA=0.5-3.0 PA1 EPA can be obtained by a process involving the following steps PA1 subjecting a fish oil to an enzymic conversion PA1 removing free fatty acids or esters from conversion-product PA1 subjecting product of above to enzymic hydrolysis, using 1.3-specific lipase or partial glyceride-specific lipase PA1 wash and dry product PA1 re-esterify dried product
