Abstract

The present invention provides a microstructured cosmetic composition comprising: PA1 A) a cosmetically acceptable oil phase which is dispersed in; PA1 B) an aqueous phase comprising 0.05 to 3.0, preferably 0.2 to 1.0% by weight, based on the weight of the total composition, of a .beta.-1,3-glucan having a mean molecular weight within the range of from 1.times.10.sup.6 to 12.times.10.sup.6, preferably from 2.times.10.sup.6 to 10.times.10.sup.6 ; PA2 the oil phase A) in the microstructured cosmetic composition having a mean particle size within the range of from 0.05 to 1000 microns.
