Abstract

The invention relates to a luminescent material of general formula EQU (Ba.sub.x Sr.sub.1-x-y Pb.sub.y).sub.2 Mg(BO.sub.3).sub.2 PA1 wherein 0.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.0.999, 0.0005<y<0.05. Luminescent materials of this general formula are very suitable for use in low pressure mercury discharge lamps for tanning purposes.
