Abstract

A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, includes a cartridge frame; an electrophotographic photosensitive drum; and a cartridge coupling member for receiving a driving force for rotating the drum from the main assembly of the apparatus when the process cartridge is mounted to the main assembly of the apparatus. The coupling member is provided on one longitudinal end of the drum. The cartridge also includes a charging bias contact for receiving a charging bias from the main assembly of the apparatus when the process cartridge is mounted to the main assembly of the apparatus; and a detecting developing bias contact for receiving a developing bias to be applied to a developing member from the main assembly of the apparatus when the process cartridge is mounted to the main assembly of the apparatus; and a detecting contact for notifying the main assembly of the apparatus that the process cartridge is mounted to the main assembly of the apparatus. The three contacts are provided on the bottom, when the process cartridge is mounted to the main assembly of the apparatus, on a surface of the cartridge frame adjacent the…
