Abstract
Compounds and lubricant compositions are disclosed that comprise a substituted linear thiourea of the structure ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.4 are independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkaryl, aralkyl, and hydrogen; R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkenyl, and combinations thereof; X is selected from the group consisting of (i) methylene, if, and only if, R.sub.3 is alkenyl, (ii) oxygen, and (iii) sulfur; and A is selected from the group consisting of alkylene and aryl.
