Abstract
A catalyst comprising rhodium and a compound of the formula (I) ##STR1## in which PA0 m is a number from 1 to 1000; PA0 x is a number from 0 to 4; PA0 W is a group of the formulae --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --, --CH(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2 --or --CH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3)--; PA0 R is hydrogen, a straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -- alkyl radical; or a group of the formulae ##STR2## where PA0 a, b, c, d and e independently of one another are a number from 0 to 1000, at least one of the numbers a, b, c, d and e being greater than 0; PA0 R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, R.sup.8 and R.sup.9 are identical or different and are hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl or a group of the formula ##STR3## PA0 R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and are a straight-chain, branched or cyclic C.sub.1 -C.sub.30 -alkyl radical or C.sub.6 -.sub.10 -aryl radical, which is unsubstituted or substituted by from one to five C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl radicals, and PA0 L is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkoxy, NO.sub.2, NR.sup.3 R.sup.4, where R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 independently of one another are hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, or L is Cl or OH, for hydroformylation reactions.
