Abstract
An erythromycin A derivative represented by Formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a group represented by the formula: ##STR2## a group represented by the formula: ##STR3## (c) pyridylacetyl, (d) cycloalkylmethyl or (e) 1,2 bis-(ethoxycarbonyl)vinyl, R.sup.2 is the same group as defined for R.sup.1, hydrogen, alkyl, alkanoyl, alkoxycarbonyl, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together may form .dbd.CH--R.sup.14, or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached may form: ##STR4## R.sup.3 is hydrogen, alkyl or cinnamyl, R.sup.4 is hydrogen, acetyl, ethylsuccinyl or nicotinoyl, A is --OC(.dbd.O)--R.sup.17, --OC(.dbd.O)--CH.sub.2 --R.sup.17, --OC(.dbd.O)--NH--R.sup.17, --O--R.sup.17 or --OC(.dbd.O)--O--R.sup.17, and R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are each hydrogen or alkyl.
