Abstract
The present invention is directed to compounds of the formula: ##STR1## and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, to pharmaceutical compositions comprising same, and to methods for inhibiting protein prenylation in an organism using the same, where R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.7 and X are defined herein.
