Abstract

The present invention relates to the use of (.+-.)-R*,S*)-alpha-2-piperidnyl-2,8-bis(trifluoromethyl)-4-quinolinemthan ol and in particular (-)-(11S,2'R)-alpha-2-piperidnyl-2,8-bis(trifluoromethyl)-4-quinolinemthan ol in the treatment of disorders in which the reduction of purinergic neurotransmission could be beneficial. The invention relates in particular to adenosine receptors, and particularly adenosine A2a receptors and to the treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease.
