Abstract

A multiple-beam electronic scanning antenna including an array of phase-shifters (2, D.sub.ij). The N simultaneous beams are obtained in N directions by a law of excitation (f.sub.ij) applied to each computed phase-shifter (D.sub.ij) by summing the phase laws .psi..sub.1, .psi..sub.2, . . . .psi..sub.k, . . . .psi..sub.N associated respectively with each 1, 2, . . . k, . . . N order direction and by applying the resultant phase-shift (.psi.t.sub.ij) to the phase-shifter, without applying the resultant amplitude modulation (.rho..sub.ij). The multiple-beam electronic scanning antenna especially is applicable to uniquely phase-controlled antennas in satellite or terrestrial communications requiring simultaneous communications with several variable sites.
